Brooklyn Cattitude & Street Strutters Dog Walking is looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our growing team of pet care professionals. This part-time position is a great opportunity for animal lovers to make extra income and spend time caring for our clients fur kids.
Must Love and Understand the nature of Cats and Dogs!
Our pet care professionals must have an innate understanding and love of animals. Many of our sitters are experienced pet owners and have worked in animal hospitals, kennels, doggie day care facilities, and zoos. You will be spending a lot of time playing with, caring for, and interacting with our clients pets.
About the Position
This is a part-time position. While clients are away, our employees are responsible for visiting their homes and caring for their cat or dog (feeding, walking, cleaning the litter box, playtime, etc). Visits typically last 30 minutes. The sitter is responsible for sending the client details of the home visit via text or email. Travel to client homes is required, though we try to work with you to find locations that are convenient for you, owning a bike or a car, increases your ability to earn more money.
About the Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should have incredible time management skills. Our pet care professionals are responsible for setting and adhering to our clients schedule. Typical responsibilities include scheduling multiple client meetings and home visits each week. While this position frequently offers flexibility in the time of day you visit, much of the work will be on the weekend or in the evenings – perfect for someone looking to make some extra money on top of a full-time job.
We require our employees to have excellent communication skills and technical fluency. Our clients rely on email to schedule meetings and visits. Candidates must be comfortable using email and text to communicate in a timely manner.
The care and safety of our client's pets is our main priority. These animals rely on you to feed them and care for them every day. Our employees must be reliable and dependable. Once you commit to a sit, you must show up.
Qualifications
- Excellent people skills
- Incredible time management skills
- Reliable transportation: car, bike, or public transit
- Must have your own smart phone and be comfortable using it for business texts and email
- Past experience working with animals preferred
- Willing to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Must love animals and not be afraid of a cat swipe or scratch. Sometimes our furry friends need time to adjust to a stranger entering their home.
